Given my Southern upbringing, I sure don't like to talk about myself that much, but I sure enjoy helping others get some attention. However, in the tradition of website "About Us" pages here you go:
Kirk Jackson founded Going Home Pictures with the intention of bringing social issues to light and producing meaningful and engaging content through the power and intimacy of documentary filmmaking and photography. He set out to produce media content geared toward making a positive change or contribution to society rather than only entertaining it.
Raised in Houston, educated in New York City, planted eleven years in Los Angeles, and now back in the Dallas-Forth Worth area, Kirk is the Digital Media Manager for the disaster response organization Team Rubicon. He has helped to mold the story, message, and brand of the organization since it's first year in 2010 while also consulting and collaborating with other nonprofits to expand their digital media and online presence.
Footage and edits for our nonprofit clients have been featured on HBO, HISTORY, CNN, NBC's TODAY Show, MSNBC, FOX news, various local & regional affiliates and used by The Clinton Global Initiative, GQ Magazine, USAA, and Dick Clark Productions. Photos have been featured in Vanity Fair, Outside, People, O, Fortune, Bright Ideas, Delta Sky, Philanthropy, On Wisconsin, Bal Harbour, Emergency Management, the LA Times, USA Today, the New York Post, a best-selling novel, and numerous other publications.
