Early Sunday morning Kirk Jackson returned from the Dallas area where he was embedded with the veteran response nonprofit Team Rubicon.  Kirk captured new video footage for an upcoming project and also handled photos and entry for their blog and Facebook updates from the scene.

Going Home Pictures has completed the new documentary short for the nonprofit Chateau Vert International.  It is now online in time for their annual fundraiser this weekend.  The video is a retrospective look at the first apprentices at the chateau last summer.  GHP was there with them for their first few days and filmed followup interviews back in Pasadena.  Aside from residing online, the 5 minute piece will be used in the founders' personal fundraising meetings.  View it here on Vimeo.

15 February 2012

Going Home Pictures will be editing a second video for Chateau Vert International.  The new, shorter length video (for the web and an upcoming fundraiser) will highlight the profound effects that their pilot program had on its young apprentices.  In the meantime, you can see the initial fundraising piece we put together last Spring here to get a little background on this incredible new nonprofit.

Going Home Pictures just completed a quick turnaround on the footage from Friday's Veterans Day events in Valencia, CA.  The video tells the story of Army veteran Joshua and his battle with PTSD, and it highlights Team Rubicon's first service project in association with the new Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Heroes program.  Watch it on our Vimeo page.

The PR machine is in full swing as Going Home Pictures gears up to implement some video tools for the nonprofit Team Rubicon in preparation for its Veterans Day activities with Habitat for Humanity.  We have embedded a recent video in their new home page and effectively used in their 11-11-11 campaign to bring in more awareness and recurring donations.

Kirk just returned from Hollywood, Maryland where he was deployed with a small team of voluteers from Team Rubicon.  Altering between a chainsaw and a video camera in hand, Kirk and TR helped the residents of Whiskey Creek Road move on from a violent tornado (or huge down burst - no one seems to be sure) during Hurricane Irene.  A video is now up on our Vimeo page and the Team Rubicon website.

8 August 2011

Our new promotional video highlighting our video services for nonprofits is now online.  It's only a minute long and is viewable on our NONPROFIT page or on its Vimeo page.  Just takes a minute!

28 June 2011

Kirk Jackson of GHP returned home from France last night where he was documenting the pilot program of Chateau Vert International.  The first group of kids have arrived all the way from Pasadena, CA, and it was truly a magical time to witness them take in a completely new cultural and life experience.  Please take a look at this young but incredible program at their website or blog.

30 May 2011

Kirk Jackson of GHP just returned from the tornado-ravaged town of Joplin, MO where he was embedded for 4 days with the veteran disaster response organization Team Rubicon.  Unfortunately, no camera on earth can accurately encapsulate and capture the devastation, but three video updates were produced from the field.  They were put on the organization's YouTube channel and implemented into their blog along with other photo updates and reflections from the disaster zone as part of the ongoing donor engagement.  The people of Joplin and volunteers from surrounding areas were gracious and selfless and made the Team's efforts that much easier.

3 May 2011

Going Home Pictures will be returning to Le Blanc, France next month to document the first group of apprentices on their journey to Chateau Vert.  The new footage will be implemented into the existing promotional documentary, and a 90 second edit will also be created for the nonprofit.  Find out more or view the recent video on the project's page.

22 April 2011

Filming completed yesterday on the short documentary project Accordion Sisters.  We expect to dive into post-production in the next couple weeks.  We'll post here when some video is online on the project's page.

4 April 2011

Team Rubicon approached Going Home Pictures with the task of creating another promotional video edit for a recent fundraising event and their web & media outreach. They recently returned from Southern Sudan where they held up their side of a brokered peace initiative between warring tribes. GHP took the raw, amateur video and compiled it into an informative piece encapsulating the complex details of the medical peace initiative. The original score was composed by fellow collaborator George Gabriel. The short video is viewable here.

1 April 2011

We learned last night that Clay Hunt, Team Rubicon volunteer/founding member and fellow native Houstonian, lost his long battle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Please take a moment to read a bit about Clay and consider making a donation in his honor to the non-profits listed in his obituary.

22 March 2011

The promotional documentary for Chateau Vert International is complete and now viewable here. The video will be presented this Sunday at their first annual fundraiser luncheon and then added to the organization's web homepage. In the coming weeks a more web-friendly 2 to 3 minute piece will replace that one. In the meantime, be one of the first to see it by visiting the link above. The video was produced to introduce Chateau Vert, their first youth participants and the apprenticeship program they will dive into in Le Blanc, France this summer.

17 February 2011

The U.S. side of production for the Chateau Vert promotional documentary is underway. Going Home Pictures is presently filming in Pasadena with the Hillsides Youth Moving On (YMO) Program as a group of Transition Aged Youth undergo a readiness program to gauge their interest in the Chateau Vert apprenticeship program in France this summer. Editing for the promo will be completed by March 20.

In the coming weeks Going Home Pictures will be traveling to the tiny central town of Le Blanc, France for preliminary filming on the Chateau Vert documentary project. I'll be sure to post the teaser on the Chateau Vert page when it is complete next Spring.
