Marsailles, IL was devastated by flooding, in part due to barges crashing into the levee system that is supposed to protect the community. Team Rubicon responded and led the disaster relief effort along with city and state services. Going Home Pictures was embedded with Team Rubicon to document the relief efforts and stories and also manage the social media strategy to update and engage donors.
18 April 2013
The story of Team Rubicon is a sometimes tricky one to tell. The organization is still relatively new in the nonprofit world and, thus, still evolving. This effective piece was produced for the first annual LA Fundraiser, and it has received over 4000 hits in its first week.

Kirk Jackson of Going Home Pictures will be engaged with Team Rubicon on a more consistent basis as their Digital Media Coordinator, as he manages the photo/video and creative direction for the nonprofit organization focused on disaster relief and veteran reintegration.

As much as it pains us to say this, production of the Route 66 documentary has been officially postponed due to... well... the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day. We have decided to push production back to possibly next October. We'll keep you posted!
17 November 2012
Kirk was embedded with Team Rubicon once again to capture and roll out media during their massive Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in the Northeast. He pushed out 2 videos during his week in NYC, a 30 second promo for media requests and a longer Veterans Day reflection which is already over 5000 hits as of today. We'll be pushing out additional media from Sandy over the next two weeks.

The Route, our new Route 66 documentary project, is picking up some steam. Kirk Jackson just returned from a trip to Houston. He b-lined it up to Amarillo, took the second half of the Mother Road home, and got some quick footage along the way to be used for -- whoops. Almost gave it away. Stay tuned. Thanks to all those great individuals along the way: Dennis, John, Andrea, Kumi, the staff at Red Bluff Buckles, etc. etc.!
3 October 2012
Going Home Pictures just put out a new video for Team Rubicon titled OBAMNEY, just in time for tonight's debate. In a time of political sparring and endless rhetoric this a refreshing mash up of audio from both candidates supporting our veterans. The piece is part of a fundraising campaign through Sharemeister.com.
22 September 2012
Kirk Jackson just returned from the StayClassy Collaborative in San Diego where he met many incredible nonprofits making some real change in their communities. Today GHP has been invited to (and is eager to attend) the always exciting CRLA (Californai Rural Legal Assistance) Tardeada fundraiser in LA.

Please REFRESH YOUR BROWSER if you this page does not display correctly. We’ve tweaked a few things on our website including project content, video links, and we added our social media links on the right (we’re being dragged kicking and screaming into Twitter, but I believe it will be a great tool for The Route production updates). Take a look around... and thanks for stopping by.

Going Home Pictures has completed the new documentary short for the nonprofit Chateau Vert International. It is now online in time for their annual fundraiser this weekend. The video is a retrospective look at the first apprentices at the Chateau last summer. GHP was there with them for their first few days and filmed followup interviews back in Pasadena. Aside from residing online, the 5 minute piece will be used in the founders' personal fundraising meetings.
15 February 2012
Going Home Pictures will be editing a second video for Chateau Vert International. The new, shorter length video (for the web and an upcoming fundraiser) will highlight the profound effects that their pilot program had on its young apprentices. In the meantime, you can see the initial fundraising documentary we put together last Spring here to get a little background on this incredible new nonprofit.

Kirk just returned from Hollywood, Maryland where he was deployed with a small team of volunteers from Team Rubicon. A video is now up on our Vimeo page and the Team Rubicon website.

30 May 2011
Kirk Jackson of GHP just returned from the tornado-ravaged town of Joplin, MO where he was embedded for 4 days with the veteran disaster response organization Team Rubicon. Unfortunately, no camera on earth can accurately encapsulate and capture the devastation, but three video updates were produced from the field, including a piece that happen to coincide with Memorial Day. They were put on the organization's YouTube channel and implemented into their blog along with other photo updates and reflections from the disaster zone as part of the ongoing donor engagement. The people of Joplin and volunteers from surrounding areas were gracious and selfless and made the Team's efforts that much easier. All videos are available to view on our Vimeo page.

Team Rubicon approached Going Home Pictures with the task of creating another promotional video edit for a recent fundraising event and their web & media outreach. They recently returned from Southern Sudan where they held up their side of a brokered peace initiative between warring tribes. GHP took the raw, amateur video and compiled it into an informative piece encapsulating the complex details of the medical peace initiative. The original score was composed by fellow collaborator George Gabriel. The short video is also here on our Vimeo page.
1 April 2011
We learned last night that Clay Hunt, Team Rubicon volunteer/founding member and fellow native Houstonian, lost his long battle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Please take a moment to read a bit about Clay and consider making a donation in his honor to the non-profits listed in his obituary.
